New York, NY – August 9, 2021 – Spring Health was recently recognized by The Startup Weekly as a Diverse & Inclusive Employer in 2021. The Startup Weekly presented the Diverse & Inclusive Employer award to companies that have demonstrated a commitment to creating and maintaining equitable workplaces.

Spring Health is on a mission to make mental health fundamental for everyone. And diversity and inclusion is a vital part of that mission mirrored in its workplace, with an employee base that is 63% female, 43% BIPOC, and 16% Black. In addition, Spring Health has 3x the percentage of BIPOC providers in its network compared to the average behavioral health network.

This year’s awards attracted many applications across company stages in the United States. The winners were selected by a panel of judges composed of top executives, founders, investors, and industry experts. The companies were evaluated based on a combination of employee survey results, proprietary fact sheets, online and offline reviews, and industry recognition.

“Diversity has been a priority for me from day one as a female founder and CEO of color,” said April Koh, CEO and Co-Founder of Spring Health. “We still have a long way to go towards being perfectly equitable at Spring Health, but I am proud of where we are today and elated that we have been recognized for our diversity and inclusion!”

"This year’s award recipients have demonstrated what it takes to truly embrace workplace diversity across all aspects of their businesses. All the award recipients have placed utmost emphasis on human capital. The judging panel commend all the awardees,” said Peter Justin, Managing Editor of The Startup Weekly.
